Our ultimate goal is an end to homelessness, poverty and those in need. We are an entirely non-government funded group, uniting with another social enterprise FRESH. We are utilising several simple options to reach people.
Firstly here is one of our mentor/befrienders, our committee member Linda:
Linda has years of experience. From many years in youth and community work professionally, to then working as lived experience and rising though the ranks with places such as Alcohol & Drugs Action, AiR and ORT &Me. She remains a dedicated Naloxone peer outreach member helping train volunteers, as well as being able to supply anyone in need with #naloxone. Also a co-host on the fresh community wellness show on Shmu FM, she has since helped found FRESH as a social enterprise. FRESH will work alongside Street Friends offering befriending and mentoring. She is also the approved NHS & ADA liaison ensuring people in need treated at the hospital, have an option to continue support after arriving at ADA.
Additionally we have flyers from local services we hand out, as well as some of the AiR recovery matters magazine, with lots of good contacts and information. It was also thought a good idea to add in details of local services such as the council team and more to every food parcel, which we are now doing too.
So this way they get some important information, to supply us with more, please do email admin@streetfriendshelpingthehomeless.com
