In Response to the tier 4 lockdown and restrictions we have had to take drastic action, this is for a 4 week period following which we will evaluate.
All new & current volunteers are politely asked to register with a quick form with Joyce, Justin, Andrea, Sam or Linda. The easiest way is to contact the storage on call mobile by text, WhatsApp or phone 07510 059138.
Joyce has forms at storage, which is now for essential access only. No unsupervised access. Maximum of 3 volunteers at the storage. Face coverings, and gloves to be worn at all times. No eating, or drinking in the storage as per scot.gov regulations.
Joyce will be co-ordinating operations, along with Justin & the other emergency covid19 response management members, who have overall responsibility of safety of everyone during this time. This will be reviewed in one month.
Our storage is 1 King Street, Aberdeen, AB24 5AA - our only official Street Friends storage.
All volunteers will be requested to observe FACTS and all tier 4 precautions, and advised of the simple download for the scot.gov trace & protect app.
See details here: TIER 4
We will be accepting donations from sources such as Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda, Cfine - due to their strict procedures. We are advising anyone wishing to donate to simply instead use our official Street Friends Wishlist on AMAZON, as well as using our Covid19 Street Friends GoFundMe and also our Covid19 Mental Health/Street Friends GoFundMe
The advantage of Amazon deliveries are they are easily stacked and sorted. GoFundMe allows us to continue purchasing emergency supplies as and when required. We can now accept bank transfers and cheques, having set up our bank account these past few weeks, following our Chairman and Secretary taking responsibility of the matter.
We no longer use the premises of, or accept anything at Holland Street. If you wish to make a cash donation, we would due to covid19 restrictions prefer above options. However if necessary, it is certainly needed and you can do so with Joyce, at our storage premises. Just phone 07510 059138. She will log and secure any cash donations safely.
Thank you for patience and understanding with these emergency precautions, the aim is to return to everyone working together as a team once again. Everyone staying safe and covid19 free. We want to ensure everyone remains safe during these times, everyone in need we assist remains safe, as well as your families/ friends & loved ones. It's time to kick covid19 into shape, so that we can soon resume normal operations.
We will continue with Wed/Sun frontline outreach sessions with extra precautions, as with the New Years day frontline outreach. We will also be doing daily street walk outreaches to ensure everyone is safe.
