We are proud to say that our online membership, open to all, and initial induction is a great success. Our new procedure allows anyone to join the website. They then can join any public groups. This includes craft groups, Xmas ideas, Suggestions, Current requirements, and much more.
For those wishing to volunteer, we are required to request they complete a short, but essential, induction online. Which just involves reading through the handbook, some reading on Stigmatic language, and on Covid19.
Driver/ Collectors only can then just upload their references and driving licence & Insurance, to the online form.
All other volunteers complete quick, painless, informative courses in: Drugs Awareness | Overdose prevention, intervention | Motivational interview in short conversations. This enables all volunteers to know the basics of CPR, Recovery Position, recognise possible overdose signs, start initial befriending the correct way. This is done by opening a FREE account at Scottish Drugs Forum. All details in our volunteers pathway, on our Website for links.
All other volunteers just upload their references, (if also drivers then licence & insurance too), on the online system. They then also upload their certificates to the system.
Once all have registered it will enable management assistance volunteers, to run individual groups and indeed create their own groups. It enables our commitment to reducing carbon footprint, complete transparency, be in line for Audits.
It will also allow for ease of funding/ grant applications. As well as enabling us to have a complete, (non-identifier, (all volunteer/ attendee/ donor details are confidential), but acceptable), record of our progress - which we can use for working towards the next step of becoming a charity.
This is all securely stored online, with offline back up also secured, avoiding any paper copies of any members/ volunteers details. Congratulations to those who have completed this already.
This means volunteers sign in/sign out online. They add their expenses online. All donations can be added online. All attendees seen can be added online too. All incidents are recorded online. Any befriending or direct referrals are recorded online too.
Progression from this includes Naloxone training with kits, which are ready and waiting to be provided from ADA lived experience peer Naloxone outreach team. Anyone with completed inductions are welcome to complete the further 10 minute course, get their choice of kit and then watch the advised videos, also provided online.
Application for their own PVG's.
Full befriending training and coaching. First Aid Training. Further options in coaching, and much more, once volunteers have completed their online inductions.
Promotions on the volunteers pathway can then be achieved, as these cannot be recognised without inductions having been completed, and the signing in/out procedure being followed - thus enabling decisions to be made regarding a volunteer experience (hours volunteered), aptitude, attitude, PVG status & training completed.
Open to anyone from anywhere to contribute towards playing a role in their community, whether as friends, members or from home.
Contributing towards social change in any way they wish!
