With having already lost Pret, we are now about to lose Greggs as well. These are 2 of our largest long term benefactors. This puts us in a tight bind. In immediate response we have returned to our landlord, who we started working with in September. Signing the first licence in October 2020 for storage only premises. As a result we have requested use of a second part of Burgh House. This has kitchen, 3 toilets and 4 hand wash facilities. It has multiple rooms on 2 floors.
Once this is cleaned and #covid19 assessed, we anticipate we will be able to safely have multiple people in various areas. If approved by landlords insurers for immediate licence, entry would be soon. We are tendering for both units on the ground floor with immediate affect for a 5 year licence too.
The new unit also has 2 large consultation rooms, which will be utilised by our colleagues at FRESH. Mark Moira & Linda Algie will be able to provide urgent limited numbers covid19 FACTS safe drop in sessions for those most in need. Both of these lived experience peers are local community award winners for their services to Aberdeen. They have multiple links including ADA & NHS, to name but a few. Thus allowing Street Friends and FRESH working together to enable mentoring, befriending, progression and moving things forwards in the short term.
The funds from Bradleys team can help with urgent food, as well as getting these premises urgently ready for use.
We call on our volunteers & supporters to help us with this, please email directly any offers of help to email@example.com
