"I've put together a Wishlist for inventory this week: we need cardboard cups & lids for tea/coffee; some more cartons of UHT milk (preferably whole & skimmed); also need pink high-vis jackets & need disposable gloves.
Donations that we need as a priority include: all toiletries except toothbrushes; need contraceptives (please no more lube); tinned food like anchovies, tuna, tinned fruit & veg, etc.; sleeping bags & clothes donations are always welcome.
Could we also include a reminder that while we do want sleeping bags, we cannot accept any other sort of bedding/mats/air mattresses/duvets/curtains/towels/tents etc. We also can't take fresh dairy products, and we cannot accept fresh veg, raw meat, or perishables in general.
Fantastic to utilise the correct system operating presently, by advertising on website as well as his own messages on social media pages etc. We are working towards full use of the website, (to compliment our social media, all those incredible pages will continue), which can have sections run by volunteers, entirely self sufficient, which is a true help to not only the team, but to those most in need. This can be added to groups such as the 'Donations required, every week and urgently', by posting it there too. This is a public group, which allows everyone to see what we need.
The hi-vis jackets will enable everyone to have their own, as currently we are required by law to boil wash these every time they are used by someone, which simply is not practical.
THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR SPONSORS TO GET INVOLVED, WHY NOT SPONSOR OUR LOGO AND NAME, WHILST MENTIONING YOUR OWN LOCAL BUSINESS. #supportlocal
With our new storage, we will start accepting things like airbeds, sleeping bag mats & small tents. This is the time of year when it is urgently needed by rough sleepers. Something always needed too are waterproof ponchos, inexpensive but they can make all the difference in this weather.
Thanks everyone. #kindness uniting communities #communityspirit
