DURING THE PANDEMIC EVERYONE IS REQUESTED TO ENSURE THEY MAINTAIN THE CURRENT RESTICTIONS

AND ABIDE BY THEM MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES, WITH PPE USED.

Street Friends helping the homeless

We currently have numerous roles following our recent relaunch and having become a fully constitution registered ACVO (tsi), community group and licensed by Aberdeen Council.  As well as being fully insured. REGISTRATION details

We have a managing committee, Treasurer, Chairman and Secretary.

We have an incredible group of team leaders.

Plus started on our volunteer pathway are our 'tier' volunteers, we have Bonze, Sliver, Gold & Platinum

Roles currently available are the following: 

Drivers/ Collectors only no other volunteering only need a brief inductions.

All other volunteering roles please follow the induction procedure then upload your 3 SDF certificates above too.  Roles include work from home, physical outreach, first aid officers, and much more

Storage manager with access to an available city centre storage place, evening and weekend accessible secure storage;

We need registered and (in date) certificated First Aiders;

Outreach/Befriending Volunteers (Weds/Sun);

Helpers with donations, food parcel creation - this is done within Covid19 guidelines 6 inside with masks if not ventilated and Trace/Protect App , up to 15 outside;

Online and 1 to 1 befriending assistance;

Fundraisers; Flyer distribution (and ability to print them if possible);

we are welcoming and understanding of any restrictions, we are happy to help; you will work alongside an experienced volunteer as a buddy-up induction scheme.

Volunteers will join as Street Friends Community members, with a public profile first, see MEMBERS Via GROUPS and then will complete initial volunteer registration link above.

You then choose driver/collector only above, or physical volunteer (such as outreach etc), safety or PVG application this is for anyone wishing to help with safety such as First Aid, or for any volunteer wishing to further themselves with  applying for a PVG & final option is for those wishing to help by volunteering from home.

Through above online portal ,or if needed help from the group online, induction & initial training, following references being returned they are welcome to start buddy-up volunteering, provided they agree to complete online quick certificates within the first week or 2. 

Depending on role they may need to provide evidence of driving licence, car insurance, PVG  or any other related certification. Drivers would upload documents and if only collectors/ donators they only need registration, handbook and documents.

Volunteers can then progress on the Tiered level scheme Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum 'tier' level volunteers pathway.
